Slavery and the Teachings of it

This is a drawing that I created after listening to the podcast about the teachings of slavery and the reading about the myths of Rosa Parks.

When I was in grade school I was not taught that Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King Jr, and other Civil Rights Activists were doing things that were frowned upon.  We were told things in a way that was always positive and sugar coating the truth.  The article about the Rosa Parks myths made me view her story in a different way.  I remember I was taught that she was tired, causing her reaction.  But her tiredness had nothing to do with the way she reacted like it was negative.  Of course, Parks was tired, she worked as a seamstress and was a full-time activist.  History made it seem like she had no importance because she was just a poor tired woman.  This drawing shows Rosa parks as a happy person, showing that her feelings did not cause her to get arrested.  The two other people in the drawing discredit her making slavery and the Civil Rights Movement seem unimportant.
